Our class had adopted the Silver Creek that flows behind our school. Our class, along with two other fourth grade classes, spent an afternoon removing plastic and other trash from the creek. Students were shocked by how much trash they discovered in such a short amount of time. Students in our school are also working to change school district policy regarding single use plastics that are being sold in our cafeteria. Next year, they will no longer sell these items in our cafeteria. It has been a major victory for our school and our environment.
